Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara

Slowly working through my Clothes Show goodies (yes it was months and months ago) I have been getting acquainted with this Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara in 001 Black, with a really funky brush. Having seen it advertised so much and just the general vibe about the product I was keen to try it out.

Sadly it did not live up to my expectations. Although I love the look of the brush, it doesn't seem to do much for my lashes at all. I supposed you could say it adds definition but in terms of volume or length it was clearly lacking. For me, perhaps the brush is to blame, due to the way the bristles are spaced out and how this impact mascara application. The formula is average, a true black colour and lasts fairly well. This mascara is definitely not my mascara of choice but it ok for topping throughout the day, when you already have a basecoat of a  different mascara to give you the volume you required.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with this product so would not be repurchasing. I am still looking to find a Rimmel mascara that I love, any suggestions much appreciated!!

The Body Shop Goodies

Firstly, happy Easter everyone!! Enjoy munching on your chocolate eggs, especially those of you who gave up chocolate and sweets for lent.
Earlier this week I picked up an absolute bargain of a goodie bag from the Body Shop, for a great price of £20, containing 6 items:

Body butter in Cocoa butter, smells so deeeelicious you could eat it.
Elderflower un-perfumed eye gel.
Hemp hand protector, with community fair trade hem seed oil for very dry skin.
Shower gel in Mango.
Vitamin E Cool BB Cream in Glowing Shade.
Spa Wisdom Polynesia Monoi Miracle Oil, sumptuous softening for skin and hair, enriched with community trade organic virgin coconut oil.

Sound exciting, right?! Not having much experience with the Body Shop's products I am extremely looking forward to trying these out, especially the body butter! (I'm currently probably the only girl in existence that hasn't tried one of these body butters!) Are you a Body Shop shopaholic and have tried all of these items? Would love to hear what you think!

Face Mask Mondays #3

Running a bit late with this one! Sorry guys! The third instalment of face mask Mondays brings the Montagne Jeunesse Virgin Olive mask which  has been a lovely experience. With extracts of olive oil and Shea butter, this mask claims to leave your skin super smooth and deeply cleansed.

Shortly after removing the mask my skin was left feeling smooth and a little glowy. I did notice however, that it seemed to bring up a few spots (out of nowhere) and although an unpleasant surprise, it was much better than sitting around lurking in my skin. For me, this reinforced the claims that the mask did actually cleanse the skin and help remove dirt particles and any upcoming spots. Although my skin was feeling soft and smooth for a while after, just like with mask #1, this feeling did not last very long. The mask did feel ideal for my skin type (normal to dry) and I enjoyed using a lot so I would happily repurchase it.

(And here is a cheeky snap of what it looks like upon application... although at this point mine had already started drying)
