Bourjois Liner Pinceau Liquid Eyeliner

With Spring looming on the doorstep it was time to stray away from my usual liquid liner and try something new. This Bourjois Pinceau liquid eyeliner was reduced on Asos so I thought why not! Already in a loving relationship with Bourjois product I had only the highest expectations, which were definitely met!

The brush is reasonably slender, perfect for drawing thin lines, with flicks turning out really well. As the brush doesn't have a defined tip as such, it is difficult to start drawing a smooth line (without it looking a bit too sharp and pointy) when outlining only half of the lid. Absolutely ideal and perfect to work with if you want to outline the whole eyelid.

The product itself is of a great consistency and a rich black colour, ensuring that only one swoop creates a lovely, full line. Not a bad thing to say about this lovely liner, absolutely love it!

NOTD // Topshop Nails

Having not done of these for a while, it was time to post a review of nail polish I have been absolutely loving the moment! This gorgeous Topshop Nails number in Queen of Green has been by far my most worn nail polish in the month of March.

This green polish is sparkly but subtle, and although pastels are back in, it would also be perfect for Spring. Not having tried any Topshop nail polishes before, I was absolutely amazed at the staying power. Without a top coat I survived a whole 3 days absolutely chip free! If anything when worn with a topcoat chips started springing up on day 2. After trying this little one I am very keen to purchase more polishes from the Topshop collection, as the impressive quality was a very pleasant surprise.

Now to decide.. which Topshop nail polish should I purchase next? All suggestions welcome :)

Face Mask Mondays #2

This week's instalment of Mask Mondays presents the Montagne Jeunesse Hot Chocolate, cocoa and orange, pore cleansing masque with self heating properties.

Shortly after coming in contact with the skin, the mask instantly graces you with a lovely warm sensation. Deceptively, the mask is nothing like the colour on the packaging, as it is a rich chocolatey colour, not orange. With the mask feeling lovely and warm it was all too easy to relax away and lose track of time, so both times I used it I ended up keeping it on longer than I should have done. Not as gentle as mask #1, this Hot Chocolate goodness felt a little drying and left my skin feeling very tight.

Although I enjoyed using this mask it became quite clear that it is not very suitable for my skin type. There is still some left in the sachet and this time I'll make sure I do not keep it on for longer than 10 minutes, maybe it will not be as drying?

Have you used this mask before? Would love to know what you thought!

(apologies for the terrible image quality... but face mask close ups do not look great haha)

VO5 Plump It Up Dry Shampoo

An absolute dry shampoo convert, it was time to stray away from the safety zone of Batiste and try out an alternative product, the VO5 Plump it up Dry Shampoo. This product aims to boost body and grip, while refreshing your style.

This dry shampoo has a lovely scent and a gentle texture. It does freshen up your hair but without leaving a thick white residue, which I often found with Batiste. Some dry shampoos, a TreSemme in particular can feel a bit too wet and have a distinct hair spray scent. Wonderfully, this VO5 dry shampoo successfully avoids this also. As it is very gentle in the way it works, I feel like I have to apply a lot of product in order to achieve the desired effect, leading to a bit of battle with the grey-ish streaks. It is lovely to use and feels a lot lighter in your hair than other dry shampoos I have used, making it ideal for a quick freshen up session or to add a bit of extra volume. Would happily purchase this product again!

Face Mask Mondays

One of my New Year's resolutions which was getting severely neglected was to improve my skincare routine, about time I start working on that! Whilst having a clearout over the weekend I found a bunch of these Montagne Jeunesse face masks which I'd completely forgotten about. From now on, the next 8 or 9 Mondays will become 'Face Mask Mondays', where each week I will reveal a mask from my collection and let you know how I got on.

The first instalment is the wonderful 'Very Berry Ultra Moisturising and Cleansing Mask', containing blueberry and cranberry extract, with the most deeeeelicious scent. The formulae is of a lovely screamy consistency, pinky purple in colouring.

The mask nourished and cleansed, leaving the skin wonderfully soft. Overall - I was impressed! Although feeling a little uncomfortable when drying, but I guess you will get that with any mask of such sort, it left my skin feeling super smooth and fresh. Easy to apply and remove this mask was a pleasure to play with and I would happily repurchase it.

Score - 9/10 (the smooth and soft feel didn't last as long as I would have liked it to)
